Dear Neighbor,

The summer season may be over, but the sense of community connectedness isn't. Over the next few months, there will be community events, gatherings, and celebrations that will continue to unite all of us as neighbors.

I look forward to working with you throughout the rest of 2026 to make the Fourth Senatorial District all that you hope it to be. And as we move toward the colder months, please join me in cherishing the people, places, and community traditions that define our district.

Acing the New School Year

More than 1,500 students from across the Fourth Senatorial District started the school year prepared with new supplies thanks to a Back-to-School Backpack Distribution event I hosted with Liga de Justicia Abogados in Brentwood.

September can be a challenging time for families with school-aged children. This event helped students from across our community walk into the classroom on the first day of school prepared, confident and ready to learn.

Summer Flavor

To officially wrap-up the season I hosted my annual End of Summer Community BBQ in Wheatley Heights.

In addition to the food, this free community event featured a backpack and school supply distribution, barber services for children heading back to school, fun games, music, prizes, treats, and more.

The End of Summer BBQ provided a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to connect, for families to enjoy time together in the community, and for children to receive some of the supplies they'll need to succeed in the upcoming school year.
