I hope you and your loved ones had a safe and joyful Independence Day filled with family and friends.

As we reflect on the meaning of the 4th of July, let us never forget the brave men and women who have scarified so much to protect the freedoms we cherish. Their service and dedication are the backbone of our nation, and we are forever grateful.

Summer is in full swing across the Finger Lakes, and there's no better time to get out and enjoy all that our region has to offer. From county fairs and community festivals to local farmers markets, these events are a great way to support small business, connect with neighbors and celebrate our beautiful region.

My team and I are here to support you however we can. As always, you can reach me at helming@nysenate.gov or call my district office at 315-568-9816.

Thank You to the First Responders Keeping Our Communities Safe!

Thank you to all of the amazing first responders, local & state officials, American Red Cross, contractors, and utility companies working tirelessly to help neighbors in need following damaging weather events.

A copy of my letter to Governor Hochul making clear that the current infrastructure is not equipped to withstand storms like this without significant investment can be found below:

RTS Service to the VA Restored

When a group of local veterans raised concerns about the loss of an RTS shuttle route to the VA clinic on Calkins Road, we jumped into action to bring it back!

Their determination made the difference and I’m so glad to see this vital service restored.

Celebrating the Recent Trail Town Grant Recipients

Bringing economic development to our trail towns creates job opportunities, boosts tourism and strengthens our connection to the outdoors.

The Trail Towns initiative is a powerful example of what can be achieved when there is collaboration between elected officials, community leaders and local organizations.

When we invest in our trails and natural spaces, we're not just improving the view, we're driving economic growth.

Congratulations to Wheatland, Mount Morris, and Avon!

OnChamber
2025 State of the State Address

Another great State of the State event hosted by the OnChamber and moderated by Chamber President Tracey Dello Stritto. My favorite part of being a panelist is the Q&A period.

Dialog like this is important, because strong, forward-thinking policy doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It’s built through collaboration between elected leaders, local officials, business advocates, and passionate community members.
