On Veterans Day and throughout the year, we take time to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served our nation and continue to serve our nation bravely. Whether it is a simple thank you or a larger act of remembrance, every gesture matters. Their courage and sacrifice protect the freedoms we hold dear.

God bless our veterans, our service members, and the families who stand beside them.

Warmest wishes,

Pam

9th Annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony

Hosting this ceremony is one of my greatest honors as a State Senator. It is my opportunity to join with the community and personally thank the men and women who served our nation with courage, strength, and selflessness.  Their stories are powerful reminders of what it means to serve, and of the freedoms we enjoy because of their sacrifice.

Operation Green Light

Across New York, counties and communities are lighting up green to honor our veterans through Operation Green Light.  Shining a green light lets veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported.

Thank you to the Ontario County Board of Supervisors, the Ontario County Veterans Service Agency, and all the counties across our state that took part in this meaningful tribute to our veterans and their families.

Shields of Honor

Hosted by The Second Impact Foundation to celebrate the courage and service of those who protect our families every day.

The event raised funds to support the Geneva Police & Fire Departments.

Senate Citations were presented to the family of former Fire Chief Carlton Naegle, a World War II Purple Heart recipient who led the Geneva Fire Department for forty-two years, and to former Police Chief Frank Pane, a lifelong Geneva resident and U.S. Army veteran who devoted forty-five years to law enforcement.

Their dedication reminds us why we must continue to support the men and women who keep our communities safe.

Community Updates
Prioritizing Rural Healthcare

People living in rural communities deserve access to quality healthcare services. We are fortunate to have amazing partners like Noyes Hospital.

During my meeting with Dr. Teeters and his leadership team we discussed the recent expansion of mental health services and the on-going needs of our rural healthcare providers.

Collaborating with County Leaders

Western New York Inter-County Association brings together local officials from across upstate.

During a recent meeting at Scovill's Grill, we focused on New York’s growing energy crisis, building more attainable homes, and protecting our vital farmland for future generations.

Supporting Affordability in Insurance

As the Ranking Member of the Senate Insurance Committee, I joined Senate Chair Jamaal Bailey, industry leaders and policymakers to discuss ways to bring down the cost of insurance.

We had a productive working session but there is still more work to be done to reduce costs and ease the financial burden on New Yorkers.

Mobile Office Hours

One of the most meaningful parts of my job is meeting face to face with the people I represent.

During our recent mobile office hours in Clyde and Chili, my team and I had the chance to sit down with residents and local leaders to listen, help, and talk about the issues that matter most to them. Every one of these conversations helps guide my work in Albany and ensures your voices are heard.

Thank you to George Becker, World War II veteran and our 2024 NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame inductee for stopping by.

Connecting State Leadership with Local Service Providers

Supporting our community members with disabilities is one of the reasons I ran for public office.

Thank you to Willow Baer, Commissioner, NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, for joining me on a tour of several service providers. Hosting us were Livingston County ARC, Ontario County ARC, and Mary Cariola.

Ensuring the voices of ID/DD persons and the needs of our local providers are heard directly by state leadership is key to building a stronger system of care.

Cornell AgriTech Ribbon Cutting

Innovation is at the heart of New York’s agricultural success. The opening of Tech Farm 2 at the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park marks an exciting step forward for job creation, research and entrepreneurship.

The expansion will give more start-ups and famers the space and resources to grow right here in our region. That growth means new jobs are more opportunities!

Supporting Local Job Creators
Gates-Chili Chamber of Commerce

The Chili Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Night was a wonderful celebration of the businesses and community leaders who are driving growth across our region. I was grateful to be recognized alongside so many people who are dedicated to strengthening our local economy and creating opportunities for others.

Congratulations to Ben Heizmann, recipient of the Young Leader Award. A student at Churchville-Chili High School, he is an incredible young man and a reminder that our future is bright.

At the State Capitol, I continue working to cut red tape, address the state’s energy crisis, and strengthen workforce development programs so our job creators have the support they need to grow and hire right here in Upstate New York.

Pathways to Prosperity

My Pathways to Prosperity program has two goals. The first, and most important, is uplifting young people in our region by connecting them with career opportunities and putting them on a pathway to success. The second is helping our local businesses address one of the biggest challenges they face today, the shortage of skilled workers.

Wayne County
Real Estate Breakfast

The annual Wayne County Real Estate Breakfast brings together county leaders, real estate professionals, bankers, and developers to discuss ways we can grow attainable housing.

By bringing down energy costs and making homes more affordable to build, we can ensure more families have the opportunity to live and thrive right here at home.

Spotlighting Future Leaders

Thank you, Emma Conklin, Geneseo High School, for interviewing me for your Participation in Government class.

We discussed the importance of young people getting involved in public service and my experiences as a government official.

Emma’s curiosity and confidence show exactly why it’s so important to engage young people in public service and civic life.

She is an incredible example of the future leaders who will shape our communities for years to come.
