New York's farms are being squeezed by an electricity crisis of soaring costs, unreliable service, and not enough power to grow. On June 29, I brought together local farmers, agricultural leaders, and economic development officials to confront this problem head-on.
The stories they shared were troubling: electric bills that have tripled, near-daily outages, and farms told there isn't enough power for them to grow. Our farmers feed our families and drive our rural economy, yet they're being put at the back of the line.
This isn't a new fight for me. I recently voted no on a state budget bill that failed to address New York's skyrocketing energy costs. Watch my full statement here: VIDEO.
Join me in calling on the Governor to strengthen our grid, ensure adequate power generation, and give our family farms the reliable, affordable electricity they deserve. Use the link below to urge the Governor to act.
