Certainly, there is a level of concern regarding the spread of Coronavirus and it is important to have timely and accurate information.
The New York State Department of Health website has a page dedicated to the Coronavirus online at https://www.health.ny.gov/diseases/communicable/coronavirus/.
The webpage is updated frequently and includes information on known cases of Coronavirus, cleaning and disinfection guidance, help for childcare providers and schools, and guidelines for individuals who have recently travelled internationally.
The New York State Department of Health also has information available through a toll-free hotline at 1-888-364-3065.
Additional information is available through the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/.
Recently, I voted to approve $40 million in supplementary funding for the New York State Department of Health to hire additional staff, procure equipment and any other resources necessary to respond to the potential novel coronavirus pandemic.
I will continue to monitor the situation, and stand ready to call for additional support if necessary.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
