This week is a big week for our Seniors. On Tuesday, we're having our first-ever Senior Resource Fair & Lunch! We'll have more than 20 organizations there providing resources and information on housing, homecare services, healthcare, and more! Plus, check out our info below on the first day of Early Voting coming up this Saturday.

As always, there are countless other events coming up in the district -- make sure to scroll through to see what's happening! 

 

  We'll be hosting another Know Your Rights forum tonight, Monday, October 21 from 6-7:30PM at PS 1 (309 47th Street, Auditorium, Brooklyn). This forum will be conducted in English and Spanish, cosponsored by the AMPHS, CFL Sunset Park, and the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs!

We're having our Senior Resource Fair tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22 from 10AM-2PM at the NYCHA Seth Low Senior Center (137 Belmont Avenue, Brooklyn). Join us to see what resources are available for our aging constituents! RSVP/more info here.

Join us for our Immigration Resource Fair on Thursday, October 24 from 11AM-3PM at the United Senior Citizens Center (475 53rd Street #3, Brooklyn). We'll have Know Your Rights trainings at the event, along with resources from local organizations. RSVP here.

We're cosponsoring with the Chinese-American Sunshine House's Peri/Post-Partum Depression Prevention Event on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 11AM-3PM. The event will be conducted in both Chinese and English by experienced mental health professionals. For more information, call (917) 969-7018.

New Yorkers can vote early for the first time in our history, and we can start this Saturday!

Join us for our Bike Equity Forum on Wednesday, October 30 from 6PM-8PM at Brightpoint Health (803 Sterling Pl, Brooklyn, NY). In the first of our Transit Equity events, we'll talk about how we can make cycling safe and accessible to everyone, particularly in low-income communities of color. RSVP here and keep an eye out for our future transit equity events.

The Brooklyn's Children Support Children's Walk is coming up on Saturday, November 9th at 8:45 A.M. (Barclay's Center Plaza) The walk is held in partnership with the Brooklyn Children's Museum.

The Brooklyn Small Business Resource Fair is on November 13 at 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. (Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon St). RSVP here!

CAMBA has a numerous job openings for security guards at both their supportive housing and shelter locations. Security positions provide shift flexibility for young adults attending school, retirees supplementing income, or anyone looking for a position within their community. United for Brownsville is seeking applicants for their Family Co-op Program -- a fun, free program with weekend activities for families with children from 0-3 -- and Books for Brownsville, which offers literary resources for families. Benefit centers that serve our district are relocating: In November, the HRA Bushwick Job Center, Williamsburg SNAP Center, and Brownsville HASA center are relocating to 2 George Street, Brooklyn NY. Clients will be notified by mail and through flyers posted at the former site.
