Our office will be holding a Tenant's Rights Legal Clinic with Mobilization for Justice at our office! Our first of this series will be tomorrow, Wednesday, February 26 from 3-6PM. Clinics are by appointment only so call our office to schedule one!

We're hosting our second free Legal Clinic on housing with the Metropolitan Black Bar Association on Thursday, February 27 from 6-8PM at Assemblymember Richardson's office (330 Empire Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11225). Call our office to book an appointment (718-284-4700)!

Join us for our Census Canvass with Assemblymember Richardson and Community Board 9 this Saturday, February 29! We have two shifts: 10AM-1PM and 1PM-4PM. RSVP for a shift here.

Pre-K and 3-K Applications Now Open Until March 16: NYC families with children born in 2016 can apply to pre-K, and families with children born in 2017 can apply to 3-K. NYLAG's Mobile Legal Help Center will be hosting free legal assistance hours in Sunset Park at the Office of City Council Member Carlos Menchaca on February 26 and March 25. Make an appointment online here.

Celebrate Women's Herstory Month with us at our 2nd Annual Women's Herstory Brunch on Saturday, March 21 at 11AM - 2PM at the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (585 Schenectady Avenue, Brooklyn). We'll be honoring women in health this year. Call our office to RSVP!

The NYC DYCD Ladders for Leaders program is currently accepting applications for their 2020 summer internship program. NYC youth residents between 16-21 years of age who are enrolled in high school or college with at least a minimum GPA of 3.00 are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have prior work or volunteer experience and must be legally allowed to work in NYC. More info/application here.

Penguin Random House Creative Writing Awards in partnership with We Need Diverse Books is looking for high school seniors to submit original poetry, memoir/personal essay, fiction/drama, and spoken-word compositions. Applications are due March 2, 2020 at 3PM CT or when 900 applications have been received. More info here.

APAICS is currently accepting Youth Leadership Academy applications through March 2, 2020! Asian American and Pacific Islander high schoolers will participate in a week-long program that includes interactive leadership development sessions, guest speakers, and networking opportunities with prominent AAPI leaders and Congressional leaders in Washington, DC. A limited number of scholarships are available for students from low-income households. Apply here.

OCA-UPS Gold Mountain Scholarship of $2,000 for Asian American and Pacific Islander high school seniors who are the first in their family to attend an institution of higher education. Deadline to apply is April 13, 2020 at 11:59 PM PST at https://www.ocanational.org/gold-mountain-scholarship

The Betancourt Macias Family Scholarship Foundation is accepting applications for ALL undocumented students, regardless of DACA eligibility and do not have GPA nor volunteer/club involvement requirements.
