$400,000 FOR PEEKSKILL LEGAL SERVICES
I’m delighted that I was able to help secure$400,000 in state funding for the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley in Peekskill. They do fantastic work protecting the rights of individuals. The funding will help prevent unfair evictions across my state Senate district. I was honored to attend their ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 Park Place, the building in which our District Office is located.
VISITING VETERANS IN MONTROSE
I recently visited the New York State Veterans' Home in Montrose and spoke with the veterans about their issues and concerns. The 252-bed healthcare facility serves veterans and their families. So glad I was able to thank them personally for their service.
SOMERS BLOCK PARTY HONORS WAR VETERANS
Twenty veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam were recognized for their service to our country at a recent Somers Block Party. The event was organized by the Somers Lions Club and celebrated our nation's independence.
READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE IN CARMEL
On Independence Day, I was privileged to attend the reading of the Declaration of Independence at Veterans Memorial Park in Putnam County. The event was presented by the Enoch Crosby National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Putnam County Veterans Service Agency.
MOUNT KISCO FIREFIGHTERS ON PARADE
The annual Mt. Kisco Fire Department parade featured over 20 fire companies, including some from as far away as Rhode Island. I was happy to participate and thank these important members of our community for their hard work.
$25,000 FOR LAKELAND SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS

$15,000 TO YORKTOWN NURSERY SCHOOL
Happy that I could provide $15,000 in funding for the Yorktown Community Nursery School that will be used to make it more accessible for children and adults with differing abilities. They believe, as I do, that we are stronger when everyone has an equal opportunity to participate.
YOUNG CROTON EMS TECHS STOP THE BLEED
The impressive members of the Croton EMS Youth Specialists are training the public in the Stop the Bleed program, which prepares and equips bystanders to administer aid in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Glad I was able to meet them. We are working to help them expand the program.

A YORKTOWN SMALL BUSINESS FLOURISHES
I helped break ground on the expansion of the Mohegan Lake Audi car dealership in Yorktown. They employ 57 people and have been flourishing for 30 years. Happy to present the company's president, Barry Rost, with a state Senate Certificate of Appreciation. I’m proud to support local businesses, which are the lifeblood of our community.
READING DR. SEUSS TO YOUNGSTERS IN SOUTH SALEM
It was such fun to read Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax,” to a group of children at the Country Children’s Center in South Salem. The kids ranged in age from toddlers to 4 years old. The organization has been in existence for over 50 years and opened this center in January, providing a much needed location for parents. Thank you for the invitation, Polly Peace, who is the Executive Director.
